It grows in swampy areas, making it a good pond plant for the home, and gets up to 4 feet tall. Horsetail grows in U.S. Department of Agriculture plant hardiness zones 3 through 11. This is a shade plant. Can be planted in the sun if introduced a little at a time or just-arrived growth is started in the full sun. There can be some yellowing at the bottom of the plants nothing is wrong with them it is where they grow in the shade and in clusters and it is hard for sunlight to acquire to them, the top are good and green
